Cookies Policy

The site works without tracking you. Everything needed to browse, fill a basket and check out is strictly necessary, and we do not ask permission for those, because the site cannot function without them.

Separately, we use analytics and advertising cookies. Those are only set if you accept them. If you decline, they are never loaded and nothing about the site stops working.

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We also use local storage, which does the same job but keeps the information on your device rather than sending it back to us with every request. Throughout this page we call both of them cookies, because the distinction rarely matters to the reader.

These are always active. Under the ePrivacy Regulations they do not require your consent, because without them the things you asked for would not work.

• Basket (murphy-cart-v1). Remembers what you put in your basket. Stored on your device and never sent to anyone else. Kept until you clear it.
• VAT display (vat-display). Remembers whether you chose to see prices with or without VAT. Kept until you clear it.
• Sign-in (murphy-account). Set only if you sign in to your account, and only to keep you signed in. Expires after 30 days.
• Security (Cloudflare). Our hosting provider sets these to block malicious traffic and to run the bot check on our forms. From one session up to a year.
• Payment (Stripe). Set on Stripe's own checkout page when you pay, for fraud prevention. Kept according to Stripe's own policy.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not follow you between websites, so it needs no consent and cannot be used to identify you. It runs whatever you choose below.

Only set if you accept them. These tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and where they arrived from. We use this to improve the site, not to identify you.

• Google Analytics (_ga and _ga_ followed by a site code). Distinguishes one visitor from another so that visits can be counted. Kept up to two years.

Only set if you accept them. These let us measure whether our advertising works, and show ads to people who have visited us before.

• Google Ads (_gcl_au). Measures whether a click on one of our ads led to an order. Kept for 90 days.
• Meta pixel (_fbp and _fbc). Measures our Facebook and Instagram advertising and builds audiences for it. Kept up to 90 days.

The first time you visit, we ask whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Declining is exactly as easy as accepting, and neither answer changes what the site will do for you.

Until you answer, nothing beyond the strictly necessary cookies above is set. Google's and Meta's tags are not merely restricted, they are not loaded at all. We also use Google Consent Mode, so that if you accept only some categories, Google's tags respect exactly what you chose.

Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page to change your answer at any time.

You can also clear cookies through your browser settings, although that will empty your basket and sign you out as well, because it removes the strictly necessary items too. Every browser is slightly different. Look for Privacy, Cookies or Site data in your browser settings.

The cookies above that identify a device count as personal data, so the rights set out in our Privacy Policy apply to them, including the right to withdraw consent at any time.
